“Pacific Rim” was the showcase film on cable channel Sky One, the flagship network of the many channelled Sky Media Group on Sunday evening. The movie stars Charlie Hunnam, who first came to the attention of many people in the LGBT Community in 1999, when he starred as a young gay man coming out in Manchester's legendary gay scene in “Queer As Folk”, the groundbreaking Channel Four production which first brought to national attention screenwriter Russell T Davies, whose would later bring back “Doctor Who” to the BBC. Mr Davies was at the time, a young Welsh writer and his work with the BBC in Wales would help establish Cardiff as a trendy and prosperous city, and bring new prominence to Welsh working class culture.
