Adult Industry Realities Explored on TV Doc

18/03/2022

Channel FiveStar, a free to view and cable television station in the UK, spent time last Monday evening with a tiny fraction of the estimated one hundred thousand people who work in the adult industry.  Many people interviewed were open and candid about their means of making money, and spoke of their pride in living a sexually liberated life.  Unlike some other documentaries on the adult industry, this programme also featured transgender workers, and some heterosexual guys who specialised in showcasing their bodies to audiences of gay and bi men.  Couples – lesbian and heterosexual were also part of the narrative, negotiating their own boundaries and oftentimes celebrating their lovemaking with audiences online.  An important and timely documentary and one which explored the issues from the perspective of people working in an often marginalised industry.
