The city of dreaming spires, Oxford is to enjoy a day of celebrating community and transgender joy, courtesy of a coalition called by the University LGBT+ Society and backed by The LGBT+ Oxford Staff Network, Feminist Society, Oxford Against Conversion Therapy and the town's largest LGBT+ venue, the Jolly Farmers. The organisers say "We will fight for trans rights and combat transphobia with the best weapon we have: loud and strong trans visibility - showing the country what community looks like" In response to the anti-trans pseudo-intellectual Kathleen Stock being asked to speak by the posh debating society, known as the Oxford Union, the Trans Pride committee says "We call on all of our allies to join us in protest and launch a new positive legacy of Oxford Trans+ Pride".
The day kicks off at 2pm on 30th May, with plenary sessions at the Oakeshott Room at Lincoln College and then a rally and march from 4pm at Bonn Square to the Oxford Union. For further information, take a look at the Oxford University LGBTQIA+ Society at https://twitter.com/OULGBTQ
