Brazil Flag

03/10/2020

France24 Television Network reported on Saturday afternoon that tens of thousands of mostly younger people had taken part in climate change action protests throughout the world. There was an emphasis during these demonstrations on having smaller demos in more locations globally, both to reinforce the breadth of the message and to better equip volunteers deal with social distancing. A small protest involving one woman and a banner even took place on Arctic sea ice, which is under threat. In Brazil, green campaigners joined forces with LGBTQ people and indigienous people's groups, united in condeming the regime of dictator sympathising authoritarian President, Jose Bolsanaro. Mr Bolsanaro has presided over an unprecedented period of rainforest destruction.
