Police Chief Tells the Haters to Shut It

A Chief Constable of Police has said what many LGBTQIA people think, and that is that homophobic people should just shut up and accept the fact that the service they provide is for all sections of society. Sir David Thompson of West Midlands intervened in an online homophobic pile on, after some police officers were photographed getting involved in dancing at Lincoln Pride. The Independent newspaper noted that Sir David remarked ““I see no criticism for policing dancing with communities at other events so is this something about Pride? It is seconds in a tour of duty and done professionally. Vital we engage at these events.” Sir David then re-published a link to a video showing a female police officer dancing to Culture Club’s Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, during a Commonwealth Games event. In so doing, notes the Independent , Sir David exposed the homophobic stupidity behind the criticism of officers at Lincoln Pride.
