Sky News reports that homophobic and transphobic conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his “Infowars” hate site has filed for bankruptcy protection in the US. The website is currently being sued for defamation in several States over Jones’ bizarre claims that the notorious Sandy Hook School shooting was a hoax. His hateful and vengeful followers have since been waging an online campaign of harrassment against families affected by the shooting which took place ten years ago in Connecticut. Lawyers for the families continue to say that Jones’ actions in filing for bankruptcy merely “delay in the inevitable”. LGBTQIA advocates welcomed news of the website’s misfortune, noting that Jones and his devotees have been responsible for much hateful rhetoric against our community over the past twenty years.
