Turing Prize Remembers Gay Atheist Hero

Engineer Robert Metcalfe, an engineer who helped develop what would become the internet in the nineteen seventies, has been awarded the Association for Computer Machiner’s Turing Prize, which is named for the famous gay mathematician Alan Turing.  Metcalfe’s prize was for his work in the development of ethernet, which is now an industry standard wire technology.
