Mr Sheridan was an accomplished author of children's books as well as a journalist. He also advocated for mental health within the LGBTQIA+ communities and encouraged people to speak out about their emotional wellbeing. BBC Scotland journalist Fiona Stalker described Sheridan as the “very best”, sharing several pictures of the pair during their time working together. “He was so very loved. I am so thankful for every minute with him,” she said. RTE News added "Managing Director of RTÉ News and Current Affairs Deirdre McCarthy said Mr Sheridan was not only a talented journalist, but was incredibly generous with his time and always willing to help out his newsroom colleagues. We are devastated by the very sad news of Nick's sudden death," she said.
