Queer Lit bookstore, which is based in Manchester, and is Europe's largest LGBTQIA+ bookstore, and part of a network of independent LGBT+ businesses trading for the community, is holding a symposium of writers discussing their latest summer releases, at The Social Refuge independent arts space. The event takes place on Wednesday 26th June from 6.30pm and tickets are six pounds. The organisers say "Pride in Writing promises to be an unforgettable evening celebrating a diverse array of LGBTQ+ authors and their remarkable contributions to literature. This event is a fantastic opportunity to engage with and enjoy the works of both renowned and emerging queer writers. Our esteemed panel will feature guest chair Justin Myers, a celebrated author and journalist, who will lead an insightful and dynamic discussion. Joining him will be a lineup of established queer authors, including: Madeline Docherty, author of Gender Theory, whose work delves into the complexities of gender identity and expression. Han Smith, author of Portraits at the Palace of Creativity and Wrecking, known for their evocative storytelling and exploration of queer art spaces. Soph Galustian, author of No Worries If Not, offering a fresh and humorous perspective on everyday queer experiences. Daniel Tawse, author of All About Romance, bringing a heartfelt look into queer relationships and love stories. L.D. Lapinski, author of Jamie, The Strangeworlds Travel Agency & Artezans, a fantasy series that features diverse and inclusive characters, celebrating the richness of LGBTQ+ identities. Tanya Byrne, author of Afterlove, In the Shadows, whose thrilling narratives often highlight queer protagonists navigating challenging circumstances. From established names to debut authors, the evening will cover a wide range of topics, including LGBTQIA+ families, new approaches to masculinity, and much more.
