Gay Times Fires Editor After Bigoted Past

05/12/2017

Josh Rivers, the first black editor of Gay Times magazine, has himself become headlines on gay newswires after he was suspended for making a string of anti-semitic, homophobic, fat shaming and anti-disabled tweets between 2012 and 2015. Mr Rivers has issued an apology for the material, which he said does not represent his views now. Activist Peter Tatchell, who has written for Gay Times magazine in the past, said that he hoped that Mr Rivers was genuine in having moved on. And in an update, Gay Star News has added that the publishers of GT have now dismissed Mr Rivers and added that he will not be coming back to the magazine.
