Abortion Rights UK has published a list of media contacts ranging from the broadcast regulator OFCOM to the addresses of most of the daily papers, in order to empower genuine feminists and allies to campaign on poor coverage in the media. They say “You can make a difference through constructive criticism or congratulating a balanced article and by articulating the arguments for defending and extending abortion rights”. Abortion rights are an important part of reproductive freedom and women campaigned for a long time for the law to respect their control over their own bodies. Recently, fake-feminist groups, many of them linked to the anti-transgender movement, have been trying to restrict access to abortion. Public bodies and campaigners have been urged to be on the look out for the activities of these groups.
