It is a well known fact among pollsters that LGBTQIA+ people are more likely than any control sample to be interested in recycling, the environment, animal welfare, vegetarianism and compassionate living. Therefore, you might be interested to know that the campaign group Compassion in World Farming have launched a weekly lottery. They say "Playing our lottery is a fun and exciting way to support Compassion in World Farming, and help stop the biggest cause of animal cruelty on the planet – factory farming. By joining the Compassion Weekly Lottery you will make a difference to farmed animals lives with every £1 you play. And you can increase your chances of winning by playing £2 or £3 per week. Each weekly entry into the lottery costs just £1. For every £1 entry you play, we’ll allocate you a unique 6-digit number. Match three or more numbers in the right order to win one of our great cash prizes. If you match all six numbers in the right order, you’ll win an incredible £10,000!"
Compassion in World Farming was founded 50 years ago in 1967 by a British farmer who became horrified by the development of modern, intensive factory farming.
Today they campaign peacefully to end all factory farming practices. They believe that the biggest cause of cruelty on the planet deserves a focused, specialised approach – so we are relentlessly focused on ending factory farming. The organisation first became really popular with the Brightlingsea Protests against animal exports: a campaign which radicalised a lot of people and was a proving ground for progressive politics. Although moderate and centrist in its approach, Compassion in World Farming, did join with hundreds of other charities and campaigning groups in the March for Restore Nature in June.
