Lyra, the Bristol Poetry is back from March 31st - April 10th 2022. The fortnight of poetry workshops and performances will span the whole concept of poetry, and endeavours to showcase the contemporary and classical sides of the art form. Speakers include established poets such as Roger McGough and Michael Rosen, but will also showcase a range of newer voices too. Multi instrumentalist Dizraeli holds an evening whilst TS Idiot brings us the LGBTQIA themed Joy Against the Machine. Linton Kwesi Johnson and Anthony Joseph mark the forty second anniversary of the St Paul’s Uprising of April 1980. Venues for Lyra Fest include the Bristol Old Vic and the Arnolfini and the festival organisers have said that they intend to make their events as inclusive as impossible, with attention paid to wheelchair accessibility and sign language wherever they can.
