Walking Workshops for South London Now that Spring is Near

LGBTQIA+ better living blog and portal LGBT Hero reports on happenings this spring designed to get you out and about.

A new social walking group, designed specifically for LGBTQ+ people in South West London, has been launched. Named Walking HangOuts – Walking with Pride, the initiative aims to provide a relaxed way for people to explore local green spaces, meet others, and enjoy some gentle exercise.

The organisers emphasise that the group is not focused on fitness. Instead, its core purpose is to create a safe, inclusive, and active outdoor environment where members of the LGBTQ+ community can chat, build connections, and discover their local area together.

Understanding that joining a new group can feel intimidating, the founders have designed Walking HangOuts to be as welcoming and friendly as possible. They note that walking side-by-side can make starting conversations easier and allow friendships to develop naturally over time.

The group will host walks at different times, including afternoons and evenings, to accommodate various schedules. Whether someone fancies a daytime stroll with a coffee or an after-work walk to clear their head, there will be an option available.

The first scheduled walks are set for 27th February at 1pm on Clapham Common and 9th March at 6pm on Wandsworth Common. Those interested are asked to reserve a place in advance.
