Lesbian Visibility Week is Coming

DIVA Magazine, the single largest media source for the European lesbian movement, announces that Lesbian Visibility Week will take place at the end of April.

This year's Lesbian Visibility Week (LVW) marks a significant milestone as the first to be organised by the DIVA Charitable Trust. The week-long initiative highlights the ongoing lack of representation for LGBTQIA+ women and non-binary people across media, data, leadership roles, and funding streams. The Trust, the UK's sole charity dedicated to uniting media influence, national campaigns, research, and community networks for this demographic, aims to foster greater public understanding, enhance lesbian visibility, and establish a lasting, positive legacy.

The celebrations conclude with a flagship event hosted by Mint at The Ministry Members Club in London on Saturday, 25 April. Promising a vibrant atmosphere of "sapphic energy," the closing party will feature two dance floors, intimate lounges, and a heated terrace. Attendees can enjoy sets from seven DJs spinning a multi-genre mix of R&B, dance, pop mash-ups, and classic queer anthems. The night will be hosted by Char Bailey, with additional performers, alongside offerings of cocktails, draught beer, and wood-fired pizza. The event runs from 8pm until 3am.

In a parallel celebration, the sapphic club night Gal Pals is hosting the second iteration of its dyke day festival, Lezzer Fest. Building on the success of its 2025 edition, which saw 1,600 attendees sell out the Vauxhall Arches venue, this year's event promises an even larger scale. The festival will feature three stages with DJs and dancers, a queer marketplace, dedicated indoor and outdoor dance areas, arcade games, and food stalls. The festivities will extend into an official after-party running until 4am, curated by the dyke night PLASTYK.

These events underscore the week's core message: a dedicated time for the community to be visible, to unite, and to celebrate collective identity and joy.
