Aussie gay magazine DNA reports on an exciting new show coming the Radio Nova Network down under from April 20th.
Australian comedian and presenter Joel Creasey is set for a new chapter, announcing his own solo weekday radio programme on the NOVA network. The Joel Creasey Show will debut on Monday, 20 April 2026, airing nationally from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm AEST.
The one-hour lunchtime slot promises a mix of sharp conversation and comedy, featuring regular segments, celebrity interviews, and the occasional appearance from his mother, Jenny. In a statement from NOVA Entertainment, Creasey hinted at a fresh format, saying, "We have truly broken the mould wide open with how the show is going to look and feel." He added, "When I say there’s been some construction happening over at NOVA HQ, I mean high-vis and hard hats."
Creasey, one of Australia's most prominent openly gay entertainers, brings two decades of industry experience to the role. He began stand-up comedy at 15 and publicly came out at 16. His career breakthrough came at the 2010 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, leading to sold-out seasons and international recognition, including being booked by Joan Rivers as her opening act in New York after she saw his work online.
His television work includes being a contestant on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2015 and co-hosting SBS's Eurovision Song Contest coverage with Myf Warhurst for eight years. A highlight from that tenure was his live, expletive reaction to a stage invader during the 2018 final, a moment that went viral globally.
Beyond entertainment, Creasey has engaged with significant social issues. In 2014, he and comedian Rhys Nicholson fronted the ABC documentary Gaycrashers, visiting the Victorian town of Colac to challenge perceptions after a previous homophobic incident there. He has also been candid about his personal life in the public eye, notably in his 2017 book Thirsty: Confessions Of A Fame Whore, which included an anecdote about a fling with an AFL player that sparked wider discussion about closeted athletes in sport.
With stand-up specials on Netflix and Prime Video, and a reputation for being unpredictably funny, Creasey's move to a daily national radio show marks a significant expansion of his already prolific career.
