Solidarity Letter with Newspaper Targetted Activist

The Good Law Project are taking a stand against right wing newspapers such as the Mail and the Telegraph, who have targetted progressive activist Misan Harriman. They are appealing for signatures to their petition. Their press release explains: Misan Harriman is an outspoken social activist and cultural commentator who uses his platform to fight for equality, diversity and inclusion. He fights for what’s right, and stands against hate.

So it’s not surprising that the Telegraph and the Daily Mail, newspapers that exist to push a rightwing agenda, are running a baseless campaign to smear him. In the last 2 weeks, they’ve published more than 15 articles about him. It’s not just about Misan - it’s a clear message to others that if they speak out, they will face harassment and threats. Over 25,000 people have stood in solidarity with Misan, will you join them?

Hundreds of people like Greta Thunberg, Gary Lineker, Brian Cox, Mark Ruffalo, Mehdi Hasan, Susan Sarandon and Nicola Coughlan have stood up in solidarity with him. But we need all of us if we’re going to send these newspapers a message.

Voices who punch up at power are essential for a healthy democracy. We can’t let rightwing newspapers get away with silencing people they don’t agree with. We need to show them we won’t keep quiet. Add your name to the open letter, and stand against hate and division.
