Comedian Sam Morrison Brings Acclaimed Show 'Sugar Daddy' to London's West End

Award-winning LGBTQIA+ listings magazine QX reports that a celebrated and poignant play is set for a West End run this spring. Following a triumphant tour that included the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, London, New York, and venues across North America, comedian Sam Morrison will present his deeply personal show, Sugar Daddy, at Underbelly Boulevard.

The production, which earned Morrison a coveted spot on Late Night with Seth Meyers, recounts a true love story the comedian never expected to tell. Blending stand-up, storytelling, and raw emotional honesty, the show is described as both shockingly funny and unexpectedly romantic.

The narrative centres on a summer in Provincetown where Morrison met and fell for an older man, whom he fondly calls the "sexy silver zaddy" of his dreams. This burgeoning romance was tragically cut short when his partner died during the pandemic. Faced with overwhelming grief, Morrison turned to his craft, processing his loss live on stage in front of thousands of strangers worldwide, which ultimately shaped the show.

The result is an outrageous yet profoundly human tale. Sugar Daddy weaves together themes of love and devastating loss with bizarre and poignant anecdotes. Audiences can expect stories ranging from seagull attacks and encounters with New York muggers to unexpected visits from Jehovah’s Witnesses and Morrison’s own surprise diagnosis with Type 1 diabetes.

The show will run from 5th March to 4th April, with a runtime of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Tickets are priced from £10.00, and the performance is recommended for ages 18 and over. Booking is available via the Underbelly Boulevard website.
