LGBTQIA Pagans Mark Festival of Midsummer

LGBTQIA Pagans and followers of Earth centric religions, will be marking the festival of Litha this weekend. This is the time of the summer solstice which falls on Sunday 21 June at around 9.25 in the morning. Many people will be up early to catch the rising sun on this, the longest day of the year. For the symbolism of paganism, the solar year is now at its zenith, with plants and animals at their most exuberant. This is the peak of life, but in the dance of the seasons, there is always balance and from now until the Winter Solstice in December, the days will gradually grow shorter. And so the wheel of the year will be completed. For followers of LGBTQIA spiritual practices, Litha is an important festival but it is also important in secular society as well these days. If you are celebrating, remember to choose safer sex for erotic encounters and beware if using drink or drugs. Happy Solstice!
