LGBTQIA Arts magazine Queer Guru highlights a daytime celebration of kink culture in the capital.

In a striking blend of Victorian architecture and modern subculture, the Bishopsgate Institute in the City of London is set to host an unprecedented event. On 19th April, the institute will welcome renowned figure Brew Hunter and the UK Leather and Fetish Archive for 'FETISH UNLIMITED', a day-long festival promising an explosive and immersive exploration of fetish culture.

The historic building, which dates from 1895, will be entirely transformed for the occasion. The event, described as an 'XXtraordinary Fetish Assembly', will feature a dizzying array of attractions. These include hardcore performances, art and photographic exhibitions, installations, fashion displays, and a market. Attendees will also have hands-on access to vintage fetish magazines and posters, alongside live interviews and educational presentations under the banner 'W.T.F: We're Talking Fetish'.

Organisers bill the festival as an unapologetic exposé and celebration of fetish and hardcore dynamics, designed to be an 'in-yer-face' experience. While the visual presentation and historical backdrop are noted as being predominantly homomale, the event emphatically welcomes people of all genders, tribes, and levels of interest. The aim is to provide a safe and stimulating environment where the kinks and fetishes on display are presented as universally relevant.

To enhance the atmosphere, attendees are strongly encouraged—though not required—to wear fetish attire. The institute has specified that everything from leather and rubber to gimp, pup, and drag wear is welcome. The organisers have also issued a clear clarification: this is a daytime cultural assembly for aficionados and is explicitly not a play party.
