Together Alliance Mobilises for National Anti-Racist Demonstration on 28 March
Date: 28 March 2026
Location: Central London
A powerful coalition of civil society groups, trade unions, faith organisations, and cultural figures is gearing up for a major unity demonstration against the far right in London on Saturday, 28 March. The event is organised by the Together Alliance, which launched late last year in response to the growing threat of far-right movements across Britain.
Who’s Behind the Alliance?
The Together Alliance has attracted over 80 organisations and hundreds of prominent individuals. Supporters include:
- Political figures: MPs Zarah Sultana, Jeremy Corbyn, Richard Burgon, Aspana Begum, Clive Lewis, Dawn Butler, and Stella Creasy.
- Trade unions: Unite, Unison, NEU, PCS, UCU, RMT, FBU, Bfawu, TSSA, and umbrella bodies like the TUC.
- Campaign groups: Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Friends of the Earth, Stop the War, Show Racism the Red Card.
- Cultural voices: Sir Lenny Henry, Paloma Faith, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Brian Eno, Fontaines D.C., Charlotte Church, Steve Coogan, and many more. [togetheral...nce.org.uk], [socialistw...rker.co.uk], [lrd.org.uk], [morningsta...line.co.uk]
Why Now?
The alliance was formed amid rising far-right activity, including mass rallies led by figures such as Tommy Robinson and the electoral surge of Reform UK. Organisers say the demonstration aims to “reject narratives of division and racism” and “build solidarity across communities”. [togetheral...nce.org.uk]
Voices from the Movement
Tom Kay, a Unison representative and Stand Up To Racism supporter, stressed the importance of grassroots mobilisation:
“We are speaking to the Palestine coalition, the Greens, Muslim organisations and anti-racist community groups. We want people to feel confident and able to organise. It can be easy to be demoralised by the barrage of racist populism and the spinelessness of the Labour leadership. We need to bridge the gap between where we are now and where we would like to be in terms of an anti-racist movement.”
How to Get Involved
Activists are hosting mobilising meetings, booking transport, and distributing campaign materials nationwide. The Together Alliance invites individuals and organisations to join the march and sign its unity statement at togetheralliance.org.uk.
