Muslims for Progressive Values says that the group's work continues to be an inspiration in difficult times for the global policy directions pursued by ruling governments the world over. Chair Yasmeen Rana, representing the group's trustees, wrote a press release outlining progressive Islam's scope for Ramadan.
As-salamu alaykum and howdy!
Ramadan is a special time and calls on us to deepen our connection with Allah and practice compassion for and with our community. It is a sacred time when our hearts turn toward community, justice, and uplifting those most marginalized.
We live in turbulent times—headlines scream of division, injustice, and humanitarian crises that leave many feeling disheartened, overwhelmed, and alone. I am heartened and buoyed knowing that Muslims for Progressive Values remains a beacon of unwavering commitment to fight the good fight.
Muslims for Progressive Values continues to:
Amplify the voices of women in religious leadership and scholarship
Champion LGBTQ+ inclusion within Muslim spaces
Defend freedom of speech and conscience against rising extremism
Partner with interfaith allies to build bridges where walls once stood
MPV’s work is vital—but far from easy. This Ramadan, we invite you to transform faith into action by supporting our mission and efforts.
When you support MPV, you don’t just give charity, you become part of a community and movement.
