Gay London Life newspaper reports that an acclaimed, hard hitting and adults only play is to come to the renowned Barbican arts centre during mid October.

A hard-hitting stage production, which earned five-star acclaim during last summer’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is to make its London debut. The play comes from actor and producer Armando Babaioff and features a powerful ensemble cast. It has been praised as a raw, unflinching examination of the links between masculinity, homophobia and systems of male power.

At the centre of the story is Tom, a man who makes the journey to a secluded farm in order to attend the funeral of his partner. Yet, upon his arrival, he discovers that the grieving relatives have no awareness of who he is or of the closeness he shared with their son. What follows is a tense and unsettling episode in a stifling rural environment, where openness and honesty prove highly risky. Beneath a fragile surface, unspoken fear, suspicion and longing begin to build, while the auditorium becomes filled with images of mud, blood and looming darkness.

Tom is gradually caught in a complex trap of untruths, unvoiced intimidation and silent threats. What starts as a place of mourning becomes something far more, far more important and far more complex.
