The giant technological companies, whom some in the left wing press have described as the fascists of the twenty first century, often claim that all they do is reflect free speech. However, the lie was given to this claim after a court case in Turkey. AllOut, an international LGBTQIA+ campaigns website reports: "On 12 September, a Turkish court ordered Meta and X to block the accounts of Kaos GL, SPoD and dozens of other Turkish LGBT+ organisations, journalists and human rights defenders. Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk's companies complied within days. There was no pushback.

More than 110 people are now facing legal action in the crackdown around this censorship, and according to advocacy groups in Türkiye, the accounts are still blocked."
