The left wing weekly Socialist Worker says that it was right for anti-fascists to disrupt a planned platform for the extreme right wing Restore Britain party as the London by election heats up.

About 15 supporters of Restore Britain gathered near Camden Town Tube station at 10am. They were there to campaign for their candidate, Tyler Johnson, in the by-election in Keir Starmer’s former constituency.

It came after a Stand Up To Racism (SUTR) investigation exposed known fascists at the heart of Restore Britain’s campaign.

A loud march of around 30 supporters of SUTR chanting, “Refugees are welcome here,” and, “Nazi scum, off our streets”, caught them by surprise.

Anti-racists surrounded and overwhelmed the small group of Restore Britain campaigners and forced them to retreat down the high street.
