Save Diversity Roles by Joining Trade Unions

04/05/2025

The newly elected Reform Party Councillors on Durham County Council can still be stopped from axing jobs related to Climate Change and Diversity.  The extremist party had announced that anyone working for local government where they controlled the council, and involved in left of centre causes such as diversity and inclusion, would be fired.  BBC Radio Two reports that in response, the trade union movement, led by the largest union in local government, UNISON, has invited worried workers to join them.  Resistance to Reform can be built and once in power the hard right "gammons" who comprise the core of the party's activist base, will be shown to be incompetent and negligent of real issues affecting local people.
