Gay London Life magazine reports that a new business specialising in greetings cards and gifts for the LGBTQIA community at the Festive Season, will be delivering ten per cent of its profits to charity. Gay London Life remark "The cards do a lot of the talking. “Sleigh, Queen!”, “Have Yourself a Very Gay Christmas” and “Deck the Halls with Disco Balls” are among the designs, with glittering disco balls, rainbow colours and enough sparkle to give the fairy lights some competition. There’s a “Merry Christmas to Ru” card, too, for the person whose festive viewing is rather more Drag Race than King’s Speech." Two gay guys, Justin King and MJ Palmer, are behind the new brand which already boasts an impressive website to promote their brand. The boys say "We believe Christmas is about celebrating the people we love, sharing happiness and creating memories with friends, family and our chosen family. And we think those celebrations should reflect the wonderful diversity of our community.
That’s why we’ve created a unique collection of LGBTQ+ Christmas cards, festive decorations, baubles and gifts designed to make people smile, raise a few eyebrows and bring a little extra fabulousness to Christmas". As far as their charitable donations are concerned, the guys tell us "We’re proud to support Antidote at London Friend, the UK’s oldest LGBT+ mental health and wellbeing charity, which provides vital support to LGBTQ+ people affected by alcohol and drug use.
10% of all profits from GayChristmas.co.uk will be donated to Antidote at London Friend."
London Friend is the capital's oldest continuously running queer charity, having been established in 1972. They say "We offer counselling and support around issues such as same-sex relationships, sexual and gender identity and promoting personal growth and self-confidence. We're also home to Antidote - the UK's oldest LGBT drug and alcohol service. Our social groups provide a safe space to meet and socialise as an alternative to the bar and club scene.
