A wide-ranging alliance of over 50 organizations has united to oppose the growth of far-right politics and division in Britain. The coalition, reported by the Socialist Worker, spans a political and social spectrum including radical left groups, faith communities, major trade unions, environmental campaigners, and community activists.
The initiative aims to stand against what it describes as "the growing division fuelled by the far right." Among the participating organizations are the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Friends of Al-Aqsa, both of which have been central in organizing national demonstrations against Israel's military actions in Gaza.
The alliance has also garnered significant support from cultural figures. Musicians Paloma Faith and Charlotte Church, bands Kneecap and Fontaines DC, comedians Lenny Henry and Asim Chaudhry, and actors Juliet Stevenson and Christopher Eccleston are listed as backers. Former Little Mix member Leigh-Anne Pinnock publicly endorsed the effort, stating, “I’m standing with Together to call out far right extremism and racism for what they are—dangerous and divisive. We have to protect our communities, defend our freedoms and stand up to hate together.”
Other notable organizations supporting the coalition include the Muslim Council of Britain, Friends of the Earth, and Abortion Rights UK, highlighting the diverse concerns—from civil rights to climate action—that the alliance seeks to represent in its opposition to far-right extremism.
