Democracy Continues in the USA - for now

04/05/2025

In amongst all the furore over Donald Trump's election as the President of the United States, it should be noted that democracy - for now- still prevails in the country, and that there were more than just Trump and Kamala Harris to choose from on the ballots.  Left wing candidates and environmentalists from parties such as "Peace and Justice" and "Green Party USA" also stood.  One of them was from the free market, individualist liberal party, the Libertarians, and a gay man to boot.  Chase Oliver is out and "armed" he says referring to his support for the right to bear arms.  The Libertarian Party is an individualistic party which opposes large government and seeks a world in which individual chances at making money are maximised.  Pink News summarised many of Chase's views, including his defence of drag queen story hours and his proposals for unlocking the stalemate over book bans and age appropriate teaching in public schools..
