The customary Royal Vauxhall Tavern and friends sports day is back on the late summer Bank Holiday at the end of August, raising money for the LGBTQIA Health Charity LGBT Hero.

Join us on August 31st 2026 from 1pm, for a day of fun, competition, camp, prizes and heated rivalries... all to raise money for LGBT HERO. 

Put a team together and compete, volunteer on the day, help us raise money, or just come and cheer on the amazing teams... either way we need YOU! 

ENTER A TEAM FOR SPORTS DAY 2026: 

If you'd like to enter a team for Sports Day you need the following: 

• At least 5 team members (you can have extra team members as substitutes if you want!) 
• A team name (be as creative as you want!) 
• A pledge to raise funds as a team for LGBT HERO - the money raised on the day supports LGBT HERO's unfunded services.  
• We will set up your fundraising page for you on the LGBT HERO website 

​To submit your team, contact sam.killy@lgbthero.org.uk with 'Sports Day' in the subject and he will tell you how to set up your fundraising page.  

BECOME A VOLUNTEER FOR SPORTS DAY 2026: 

A huge amount of effort goes into making Sports Day such a sensational spectacle every year and we couldn't make it happen without volunteers. 

We need volunteers for a range of activities during the day, including: 

• Collecting donations 
• Selling raffle tickets 
• Line judges 
• Scoring 
• Team organisation 
• Litter picking 
• Event set-up 
• And much much more!  

You have the option for a morning shift, afternoon shift or be a super volunteer and join us all day! It truly is a fabulous day out and a fun event to volunteer for! 

If you would like to volunteer, please email sam.killy@lgbthero.org.uk with your preferred shift of morning, afternoon or all day, as well as your t-shirt size so we can give you an LGBT HERO t-shirt.
