The world's leading human rights network, Amnesty International, have take up a position against Donald Trump's deranged and possibly utterly demented administration in the White House. In an appeal for funds to fuel the legal fights to come, Amnesty says "
One hundred days into his second term, President Trump and his administration have plunged us into an era of rampant authoritarian practices, recklessly gutting human rights protections and endangering billions around the world.
The impact of their actions over these past 100 days is profound and far-reaching:
- People are dying from lack of humanitarian aid;
- Families are being ripped apart, with children trapped and alone at the U.S.-Mexico border;
- Millions of people in the U.S. are at risk — including immigrants, the LGBTQI community, women, girls, and more;
- More than 255 people have been illegally expelled from the U.S to El Salvador;
- Media outlets are being muzzled, protesters are being detained, and people and institutions are afraid to speak out.
The Trump administration’s unchecked power thrives on intimidation, persecuting dissent, and exhausting us until we give up. That's exactly why we must fight back — boldly and urgently. And it’s why we need you with us.
