Olivia of "Physical" Fame Passes on at 73

Olivia Newton John has passed on at the age of seventy three. Tributes were paid from across the world of entertainment and music. Newton-John was a supporter of LGBTQIA rights from the start of her career, and she is noted for the 1980 single “Physical”, the video for which was set in a gym and features gay male bodybuilders going off into the showers together. The explicitly gay references of the video took place just before the AIDS pandemic first unfolded and represent a swansong of much missed seventies gay romantic culture. Newton-John was involved with a wide variety of causes including advocating for animal rights and UNICEF.
