Arwa Mahdawi writing in the Guardian warns feminists, LGBTQIA people, people with alternative lifestyles and anyone who is not a “cisgender white straight male” to set aside their differences and united to fight the Republican Party, which she said is coming after all Americans who are not like them. Noting that the sickness in Republican circles is so deep that a bill proposed in Tennessee to undermine samesex marriage would have enabled heterosexual child marriage in its original bizarre form, Arwa writes “All of our rights are inextricably connected. Conservatives are not going to focus only on trans people and leave cis gay people alone. They’re not going to focus their energies on undermining reproductive rights and ignore LGBT people. They’re coming for everyone who doesn’t look and think like them. We cannot draw lines between the struggle for trans rights or gay rights or women’s rights: we are all in it together.”
