The LGBTQIA+ campaigning and action network, ALLOUT, says that it is doing all it can to mobilise supporters to defend the rights of minorities from the predations of the international far right wing. But they desperately need funding. In a press release, the organisation reports "
LGBT+ rights are under attack, and things are moving fast. As we face a critical fight for equality, we need your help more than ever. Our WhatsApp programme has been a crucial part of keeping people informed and ready to act when it matters most.
Here's a glimpse of some of the pressing issues we're tackling right now thanks to our WhatsApp members:
- Blocking Meta's hate speech policy changes: More than 66,000 people have signed a petition to stop Meta from allowing anti-LGBT+ hate speech to flourish online.
- Demanding justice for Sara: All Out members around the world have united to demand justice for Sara Millerey – a trans woman brutally murdered in Colombia.
- Holding the Kenya Red Cross accountable: As a hotel owned by the Kenya Red Cross prepares to welcome an anti-women and anti-LGBT+ rights conference, All Out members are taking action!
- Fighting anti-LGBT+ censorship in Europe: Across Europe, our members are standing strong against laws that erase LGBT+ topics from school curriculums, ensuring our voices are not silenced.
In moments like these, it's critical to be able to act fast. That's why we're building a rapid-response network on WhatsApp – so we can mobilise quickly and effectively in the face of these attacks."
