Ruth Marsh of the Scottish Queer International Film Festival – abbreviated to SQIFF – reports that in spite of being forced online this year, the event is covering a huge swathe of LGBTQ cinema, both classic and contemporary. Subscribers can view the movies online and have access to discussions and seminars looking at the works in more detail. The festival is split into strands, including Every Utopia is a Dystopia, which considers queer science fiction, and Queer Ecologies, a dissection of the shifting relationship between the world’s LGBTQIA+ communities and their natural environment. Tickets to all screenings and events are on sale now at www.sqiff.org. We wish everyone connected with the festival the very best of luck and recommend that if you have any interest in film and cinema whatsoever, you check them out.
