Taking Stock of HIV in Australia, 45 Years On

The city of Bath is far older than our home turf of Bristol. In fact, it predates the Roman occupation of Britain and was a religious shrine for ancient British people. The Romans developed it as Aquae Sulis, and it also experienced a growth during the eighteenth century as a healing town with its hot springs and romantic pastoral location in the hills of Somerset.
Bath Pride took place on Saturday 22nd August, bringing joy and colour to the already beautiful city streets. It was the third Pride event in Bath, and was followed by a party in Sydney Gardens, a landscaped space in the city centre area.
Organisers explained "Set against one of Bath’s beautiful green spaces, the day will bring together a mix of local stallholders, creatives, community groups and performers. Expect a laid-back atmosphere with space to sit, picnic, and spend time with others at your own pace.
Bath Pride continues to grow as an alternative to larger, busier Pride events – offering something quieter, more grounded, and rooted in connection and community."
After the main festival, the after party carried on until 3am with late night vibes at Komedia.
Local media were broadly supportive of Bath Pride - with ITV West Country News and BBC Radio Somerset both transmitting positive and supportive coverage of the event. Radio Bath also expressed support, but the real coup d'etat went to community broadcasting station Bath Sound, who transmitted live from the main stage of the event throughout the day. Well done to Olly and his team for bringing the joy of Bath Pride to people unable to visit the event in person.
Sponsors of Bath Pride included Bath Rugby, ethical clothing line Lucy and Yak and queer art emporium Peculiar Pluto. Thanks to all for their support.
