Spring Festivals Roll Round Bringing LGBT Joy

17/03/2022

We send "Shoutout" greetings to people marking three important festivals this week.  From sundown on Tuesday was the Jewish festival of Purim, a joyous occasion marked with charitable works and officially sanctioned drinking!  Then as we go to air on Friday 18th we have Holi, the ancient Hindi spring festival of colours, widely celebrated in Indian communities here in the UK.  And finally, Thursday 17th is also St Patrick’s Day, the festival of the patron saint of Ireland.  Marches and parades take place in numberous cities around the world with a large diaspora community.  And of course, within Ireland itself, where “ShoutOut” goes out on digital DAB radio via Trans Radio UK and the Free DAB project.  So, it’s a special greeting from us to all Jewish, Hindu and Irish LGBTQIA people and we hope that your celebrations are safe and memorable.
