Series one of Winter Walks has been kicking off weekday evenings on BBC-4 television. Contributors include the Reverend Richard Coles, who is a former pop star and is a gay Anglican priest. Rev Coles has made appearances on many teleivison and radio programmes where he is known for his wit and general knowledge. In this Friday's Winter Walks, Reverend Coles visited the ruins of Rivileaux Abbey and discussed faith, the need for quiet contemplation, and the Reformation, which had ended the power of Abbeys like Rivileaux and their power.
