The "Arts Professional" website reports that LGBTQIA+ groups are broadly pleased after the controversial organisation calling itself the "LGB Alliance" had a grant under the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee artistic fund suspended. Campaigners are now asking that the grant be redirected towards inclusive LGBTQIA organisations. The "LGB Alliance" is believed by many gay political commentators to be an anti-transgender organisation, founded by a small minority of radical feminists who objected to the change in policy of the Stonewall Group to lobby for trans inclusion. Since then, even moderate people have been shocked at some of the policy positions taken by the Alliance, some of them involving supporting right wing groups and making homophobic policy statements. An investigation by the campaign group Trans Activism UK might shed some light on why the "LGB Alliance" was initially selected as a beneficiary of the arts grant. They allege that grant making body the LCF includes a woman called Kelly Rust who advocates for what the "LGB Alliance" and similar groups call “women’s sex based rights”.
