Green LGBTQ+ Network Celebrates Election Wins

14/05/2022

The LGBTQIA+ network within the Green Party has issued a press release on its moderate breakthrough in recent local elections across the UK. They say that a significant number of the newly elected Green Councillors are from our community. The press release goes on “Additionally, several of those new Green councillors are non-binary, and our sister party in Scotland now has a councillor in Glasgow who's a trans woman. Truly, these queer gains are national in character”. The press release addresses the current political climate and says that despite a hostile right wing media landscape of newspapers and opinion shows, the majority of the British public evidently do not share in the homophobia and transphobia being pedalled.
