Gay Singer Andy Bell Prepares for 2027 World Tour

One of the first out gay singers of the groundbreaking 1980's, Andy Bell of Erasure has been talking to both Channel Five News and the Guardian in recent days. With bandmade Vince Clarke, Mr Bell is preparing to release a new album, Radio Radio !! in March of 2027. Founded in 1985, Erasure found chart success with a string of hits during the later 1980s including A Little Respect, Sometimes and Drama. Although less popular in terms of chart success since the early nineties, the duo have been delighting fans and built up an international loyal audience for their brand of popular electronic music. Before founding Erasure, Mr Clarke enjoyed early chart success with Depeche Mode and with Alison Moyet in Yazoo.

A new arena tour across the UK and Europe is set to commence in late April 2027, featuring special guest Ladytron for the UK dates. Vince Clarke will serve as musical director from California rather than appearing live on stage alongside Bell. Speaking on Channel Five, Mr Bell suggested that there would be less extravagant and exuberantly gay costumes on this tour, but that there would be dress changes at times.

Interestingly enough, given the approaching time of the year, Erasure released a hugely successful EP of festive songs entitled Crackers International in November 1988 which achieved much airplay on BBC Radio 1 and commercial pop music radio stations. Wikipedia notes that twenty-five years after Crackers International, in 2013, Erasure would finally release a proper Christmas album, titled Snow Globe.
