The Guardian newspaper reports that the street where Oscar Wilde lived during the height of his fame, namely Tite Street in London's Kensington and Chelsea district, is now the most expensive street in the UK, beating last year's most priced, Avenue Road, to rank first in a survey for the Halifax Building Society. The average price of a house on the street is just under thirty million pounds. Oscar Wilde lived at Number 34 in the 1880s and 1890's, where he wrote The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Importance of Being Earnest.
