Massive Support for Radio DJ as He Comes Out

28/04/2022

Capital Xtra is a hot urban station that transmits hip hop, drum and bass, soul and reggae across the UK, and is the hip younger brother of the famous Capital Radio franchise, one of the oldest legal commercial radio enterprises in the UK.  Listeners to the station and the LGBTQIA community have been sending love and support to the station’s presenter Will Njobvu who has come out as being “black, gay and proud” and says that he wants to help other black gay people.  Will said “Life’s too short to be anyone but yourself”.  Pink News reports that Will has been subject to racist and homophobic abuse online, at the hands of angry white heterosexuals, many of them demoralised by the success of Black Lives Matter and LGBTQIA pride.  But the presenter was inundated with messages of support and solidarity and these came from across the black and LGBTQIA communities as well as the general listeners to the Capital Xtra radio network.
