Rock superstars Queen, and their flamboyant bisexual hero lead singer Freddie Mercury are always associated with Christmas, because their lengthy 1975 single Bohemian Rhapsody topped the Christmas charts in both 1975 and when it was re-released in 1991 as a tribute to Freddie, who passed on from an AIDS related illness on 25th November 1991. On this Christmas night, with Queen as popular as ever with its current lead singer, the gender fluid Adam Lambert, a showcase of the band will take up all of this evening scheduling on the Sky Arts Channel. There will be coverage of the band in concert, recordings of interviews with Mercury and the rest of the band, documentaries on their influence. It is a sure fire date in front of Christmas television for all Queen fans. The Sky Arts channel is available in the United Kingdom through Freeview, Freesat, BT TV, Sky, Virgin Media, and TalkTalk TV and in the Republic of Ireland via Sky Ireland, Virgin Media Ireland, Vodafone Ireland and Eir, included in most basic subscription packs.
