The “Guardian” newspaper says that it is inviting readers to submit their cherished photographs of Pride in London over the last five decades, as the march clocks up its half century anniversary. The editors say “We would like to hear about your experiences of attending Pride marches and events across the UK over the past five decades, including that first march. What did taking part in those events mean to you? How do you think Pride, and what it symbolises, has changed over the years?” But some members of the community are urging caution at co-operating with the “Guardian”. The paper has published homophobic articles in the last fifty years and some would say its support of LGBTQIA equality has been lukewarm. Recently, the paper has given space to transphobic groups, including some that are widely considered to be right wing fronts.
