Gay Times magazine has reverted to its old masthead, after its parent company went bust. Millivres Prowler, whose history of LGBT publishing dated back to 1974, was forced to close in April when the company could no longer meet its financial obligations. Despite this sad news, the magazine known for the last ten years as “GT” was saved by a new company created solely for the purpose of running the magazine, and one of the first decisions was to revert to the GayTimes title and masthead. The editor of the magazine said that as the publication had a history dating back to 1972, when the first edition of “Gay News” was issued, it was time to take back the gay title. Elton John had apparently been among those members of the community asking for the magazine to return to its original name.
