Daryn Carter from Bristol Pride was on BBC Radio Bristol first thing on Thursday morning, talking about the new rainbow and trans pride zebra crossing that now graces the top of Wine Street in Bristol City Centre. When asked about those homophobic people who claimed that the money spent on the crossing should address potholes instead, he revealed how much money Bristol makes from being an LGBTQ friendly city. It is not, he pointed out a case of either or rainbows or potholes. By investing in LGBTQ freedom, we can do both.
