Thanks Given for Allyship of Joseph Lieberman

LGBTQIA+ advocacy organisations in the US are giving thanks and remembrance this week to Joseph Isadore Lieberman, a former Democratic Senator who has passed on at the age of eighty two.  Mr Lieberman was a Democrat, but to the left of the political party on many social issues.  He once described himself as with the Democrats on internal matters, but often sided with Republicans on matters of national security.  Mr Lieberman was a staunch supporter of allowing lesbian and gay people to serve their country in the US military.
