Florida Compromise Allows for LGBT+ Content

08/04/2024

Indiana based college radio station WGRE reports that a compromise has been struck in Florida, where the right wing legislature has tried to stop any discussion or support of LGBTQIA+ students in public schools.  The new arrangement is that discussion can take place, but not as part of any lesson deemed to be "instructional".  Activist groups for the LGBTQIA+ communities continue to lobby for proper and comprehensive discussion of the needs of LGBT+ students and allow for educators to offer support to them.
