Warhol Exhibition for Croydon

03/09/2017

South London community station Radio Jackie reports that a number of events to mark the life and work of Andy Warhol, are coming to Croydon. Mr Warhol was a gay pop art impresario during the 1960's and remained connected with LGBT culture and arts throughout his life until his untimely passing in 1987. Mr Warhol is also famous for having been shot by Valerie Solanas, the extremist feminist who wrote the SCUM Manifesto, which stood for Society for Cutting Up Men and who also died in 87. Croydon's RISE Gallery will host the series of workshops and exhibitions in September.
